Tag Rugby! :) Part 4!

Yesterday we had our first full game of tag rugby! We played five-a-side and it was really good! I think we all understand the basic rules and are beginning to obey them properly. Playing the game properly and with the rules was definitely the most enjoyable way to play!
Our teacher told us yesterday that we'll be attending a blitz in Dublin against other girls' schools on Thursday 7th April. We're all looking forward to this, we can't wait to play against other teams and it will be a really good way for us to bond as a class! I think with just a little more training we will definitely be ready to compete.
After playing tag rugby for a few weeks now I find that it's not only a male's sport. Although we've been playing a less rough version of the game it's still great to see girl's playing a sport which has been deemed as a male sport for many years.
I'll update after our match to report on how it went! :)

Tag Rugby! :) Part 3!

So far we've had three tag rugby P.E classes with Simon from the IRFU! I definitely think my class and I have progressed very well. We learn the basic rules of tag rugby through fun exercises. From fun games to real challenges it really has been a great experience!

I.m not sure if I feel completely ready to play a full proper game next week, as I think we still need a bit of preparing! Hopefully after next weeks lesson we will be prepared to have a full game! Simon has been talking about playing a challenge match against one of the other schools. I think this is a great idea as it will motivate us all to take part to win it for Class Edel's! :D

Overall, rugby classes have been great and much more exciting than just every day P.E class! :)
